What's Random Acts of Brightness all about?
Random Acts of Brightness is a concept that I started in my hometown Brisbane, Australia to enhance the impact that good random deeds can have on society. After watching the French film Amelie', I had this inner yearning to spread random joy into strangers lives. I did this mainly by paying the toll for strangers behind me when going over the Gateway Bridge. However, I realised that I could make a much bigger difference if I could somehow communicate to the person who received the good deed that he/she could then pay it forward and pay the toll for the next person in line etc. In this way, in an ideal world, the cycle of giving would be ongoing.
Hence, my purpose has now turned to inspiring everyday people, like you, to brighten up our everyday world by passing on the gift of giving!

How does Random Acts of Brightness work?
It's simple! I have printed up some wallet-sized Random Acts of Brightness cards and distributed them all around the world including Australia, USA, New Zealand, Canada, UK, Sweden, Belgium and more! When an opportunity arises to give a Random Act of Brightness, such as paying for the toll for the car behind you or paying for the next person's coffee, you simply give this person the card and ask them to pass it on or pay it forward. This can look a certain number of ways - you can give the card directly to them or leave the card with the cashier etc. They will then, hopefully, spread the brightness by doing a good deed for another stranger when an opportunity presents itself to them and will pass the card on to that person and so on and so on!
Can you imagine if the card was to come full circle back into your hands?
